|||||||||||||||||||||
For
the purposes of the application and interpretation of the present
Cookies Notice, the terms and phrases used have the
following meaning:
|
|||||||||||||||||||||
Cookies |
|||||||||||||||||||||
What are ‘cookies’? | |||||||||||||||||||||
The cookie is a small text file
that can be stored on your device when you visit websites. Certain information
is saved in this text file, such as the choice of website language. When you
visit the website again, this cookie is sent to the website. This way, the
website recognizes your browser and may, for example, save your language
preferences.
Cookies usually have an “expiration date” which
indicates for how long they are kept on your device. For example, some cookies
are automatically deleted when you close your browser (so-called session
cookies) while others stay on your device for a longer time, sometimes until
you delete them manually - we call them permanent cookies. |
|||||||||||||||||||||
Why do we use ‘cookies’? | |||||||||||||||||||||
As administrators of the LEILA Website, we
use cookies that ensure specific functions of the website work properly. We use
custom made platform to keep the content and services provided through the LEILA
Website up to date. This software uses cookies to provide specific
functionality - they are necessary for the proper functioning of the website,
and you cannot refuse the placement of these cookies on your device if you want
to visit and use all services of our website. We use basic server statistics for
analytical purposes, where all user data is all anonymous. No third-party
services are used for analysing site traffic and site interactions. The LEILA Website use Twitter
for Websites - a suite of products that enable website publishers to
integrate Twitter content into their sites. These products include embedded
Tweets, embedded timelines, Tweet buttons, and follow buttons. Further to this
functionality, the LEILA Website is using the Twitter
‘Share’ button that allows viewers to easily share content on
Twitter. When a user view Twitter content or Twitter products integrated into
other websites using Twitter for Websites, Twitter may receive information
including the web page the user visited, the user’s IP address, browser type,
operating system, and cookie information. This information helps Twitter to
improve our products and services, including personalized suggestions and
personalized ads. Learn more about the information Twitter receives and how
Twitter uses it in their privacy policy and cookies
use. The LEILA Website use LinkedIn
‘Share’ Plugins. LinkedIn uses two types of cookies: persistent
cookies and session cookies. A persistent cookie may help them recognize you as
an existing user, so it’s easier to return to LinkedIn or interact with their
Services without signing in again. A persistent cookie stays in your browser
and will be read by LinkedIn when you return to one of our sites or a partner
site that uses our Services (for example, sites that use our sharing or job
application buttons). Session cookies last only as long as the session (usually
the current visit to a website or a browser session). Learn more about the
information LinkedIn receives and how LinkedIn uses it in their privacy
policy and cookie policy.
The LEILA Website use Facebook
‘Share’ Social Plugin. It allows people to add a personalized
message to links before sharing on their timeline, in groups, or to their
friends via a Facebook Message. If the user has previously received a cookie
from Facebook because they either have an account or have visited facebook.com,
their browser sends Facebook information about this cookie when they visit a
site with social plugins. Facebook uses this cookie information to provide them
with personalized experience on that site (if applicable) as well as Facebook,
to maintain and improve their service, and to protect both users and Facebook
from malicious activity. Lear more about the information Facebook receives and
how Facebook uses it in their privacy policy
and cookie policy. |
